THE WRONG SYMBOL FOR THE INDIAN RUUPAYAA CHOSEN BY THE INDIAN GOVERNMENT!

The Indian government has recently cleared a certain design as the symbol for the Indian ‘RUUPAYAA’. However, this selected symbol is totally wrong and does not reflect the true spirit of the Indian ‘RUUPAYAA’. The selected symbol combines the English ‘R’ with the Hindi ‘RA’. This combination is wrong because the Indian currency is pronounced as ‘RUUPAYAA’ and not as ‘RAPAYAA’ [which is indicated by the use of the ‘R’].

The CORRECT symbol for the Indian ‘RUUPAYAA’ must reflect the ‘RUU’ of the ‘RUUPAYAA [RUU+PA+YAA]’. The correct symbol reflecting this ‘RUU’ correctly combines the Roman ‘RUU’ as well.

Therefore, it is demanded strongly that the Indian government derecognize the INCORRECT symbol for the Indian 'RUUPAYAA' that has been chosen by the Indian government. Instead, it must choose the correct symbol that has been stated, described and explained in the following/attached document dated 16th of July, 2010 by SWAAMEE APRTEMAANANDAA JEE.

1. The INCORRECT remains INCORRECT only. If Indian government/committee were to declare that the MOON gave the SUNLIGHT and that the SUN gave the MOONLIGHT, I still would keep believing CORRECTLY that the SUN gave the SUNLIGHT and the MOON gave the MOONLIGHT.The same applies to the INDIAN GOVERNMENT having chosen the wrong design put forward by one Udaya Kumar as the SYMBOL of the INDIAN RUUPAYAA.
2. My first reaction on reading the Indian government's wrong decision to adopt the wrong RUUPAYAA symbol was - Whoever has given this design must definitely be a south Indian who does not understand the true ethos/spirit of the Devanagari script and Hindi/Sanskrita language. My hunch proved correct when I read in today's newspaper about the background of this novice designer gentleman Udaya Kumar.Udaya Kumar having been brought up in a Tamil-Dominated environment, Udaya Kumar probably did/does not understand the ethos of the Devanagari, Hindi or Sanskrita. The same applies to the SYMBOL selection committee.
3. No, I don't want prize money of any sort or the so-called honour of any sort presumably associated with the SYMBOL-SELECTION. ALL THAT I AS A TRUE INDIAN am interested in is - getting the ANOMALY/INCORRECTION in the WRONG-SYMBOL selected by the Indian Government removed.
4. All those HINDI/SANSKRITA/CULTURAL bodies/people interested genuinely in protecting the Indian culture/Hindi/Sanskrita must come forward, file a PIL [Public Interest Litigation] petition in the Supreme Court of India and get this INDIAN RUUPAYAA's SYMBOL's ANOMALY/INCORRECTION removed immediately!

The symbol chosen for the Indian currency (Rs.) looks as if you write "Ra" in devnaagri script and then cancel it by putting a horizontal line on it. You write something and then cancel it. What does it mean? According to media reports the symbol has been chosen by the experts of different fields. But as a common man I could not understand this symbol.

1. Dear H.K., are you sure of the so-called EXPERTS who have chosen this symbol, being really TRULY experts or as having the SOUND COMMON sense? I don’t think the so-called experts applied their minds.
2. Any symbol must easily be understood by its daily users rather than only by its creators! The present wrong symbol can best be understood only either by its creator or the so-called EXPERTS who have chosen this wrong symbol!
3. There is a tendency on the part of the committees of the so-called experts in India to pass anything they feel like passing, without bothering to go deeply into the merits and demerits of an issue.
4. I tried my hard to convince myself that the parallel bar in this wrong symbol stands for the MAATRAA of ‘UU’ used in the Hindi word ‘RUUPAYAA’. But, I failed to FOOL/CONVINCE MYSELF. WHY? Simply because, then it would mean as trying to get someone’s hands chopped off and getting them placed fixed on one’s temples on both sides of one’s head, left and right! And then trying to imagine that the fellow has one’s hands still fixed on one’s shoulders as they originally were fixed!
